Everyone spends a life time striving to reach success-the top of the mountain-the Summit. On the way, there are crevasses and storms, stiff winds and avalanches of disappointments and frustrations that have to be overcome. That mountain has many plateaus and many people grow weary or because of the storms, high winds, disappointment and frustrations, settle in on one of the plateaus and be satisfied with partially reaching the heights that they had set for themselves, reaching the summit escaped them. Craig Spence, Sheriff of Sweetwater County, WY. had been climbing that mountain. In spite of loosing a father at an early age, and struggled at making a go of the family ranch, he Joined the Navy with hopes of making it his career and help his mother hold on to the ranch. He lost his mother to cancer. There was some sunshine along the way however, after his mother passed he left the Navy and in the process of selling the ranch found a wife. He kept climbing. He decided to run for County Sheriff. Now, after five consecutive terms, the summit is in site. The forth book of the Craig Spence series, SUM-MIT, follows Spence as he navigates those crevasses and crosses the last plateaus to the Summit.
JR Conway was born in Washington DC and raised on a Maryland farm. At age 18 was drafted into the U.S. Army. Is a Vietnam era veteran with multiple tours as a helicopter pilot. Upon Retiring JR stepped out of one uniform into another and joined the El Paso County, Colorado Sheriffs department. He owned a fixed base operation for a short time where he sold aircraft and taught people to fly; Moved from Colorado to Wyoming where with his wife he started a security and private investigative company. 12 years later JR moved to New Mexico and started another career as a business consultant and managed a Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC), helping business owners to learn to do business with governments.
